EVENT:

Scenario:
A large battleship appears on the horizon, and sees the two opposing sides fighting in the distance. It stops, wondering what action to take.

Possibilities:

Dice Roll :

1- Attack the Borg to stop them ruling the galaxy.
2- Attack Star Wars to push back their invasion of our universe.
3- Attack both sides.
4- Do nothing.
5- Attempt to disable Borg weapons.
6- Attempt to disable Star Wars weapons.

Result: 6- attempt to disable Star Wars weapons, posts for the adding team add half as many points (rounded down) for D6 hours. D6 Roll = 4.

For the next four hours from this post, adding team posts have halved effectiveness, rounded down. All other rules apply such as increases for consecutive rolls.

(a little more RP below, reading not required)

The battleship turns and fires an unknown beam at all Star Wars vessels within range. At first little damage appears to have been done, but it is a delayed effect. Within minutes most of the weapons have been damaged. The damage was minor, but weapon systems will take several hours to fully restore.

(PS: I am still looking for any opinions you guys have on these kinds of events or rule changes. I personally think it will be good to make the game a bit more interesting, but it will be good to hear what you guys think about it. Best of luck and may the best team win.)

EDIT: The four hours is now up, so the effect is no longer active.

I approve the occasional post from the OP to spice things up a little.

Total is -8.

So the good guys pull ahead and you change the rules and nerf our weapons?

Typical bad guy move.
--Trespassers will be promptly riddled with bullets and other unpleasant projectiles.

--Survivors will treated with apologies, steak dinner, and a VIP tour of our facilities.

OK another heads up guys: from this post, keep track of how many posts you have made, we will call them upgrade points. In the future, and I am still thinking of more ideas relating to this, you will be able to purchase 'upgrades' with these points. Upgrades may include things such as (to give a few examples) +1 effect to each of your posts, next enemy post does nothing, or even an ability to 'charge up' a devastating attack over a day or two which would have a large effect (something like +/- 20 to the total). I will also keep up with random events in new ways. Keep track of these points starting from now, do not count previous posts so everyone starts on an equal footing.

EVENT 2:

A large plasma storm appears in the area as the two factions continue to battle. The area both sides are now trying to reach is being bombarded by the storm, this will make the goal much harder to reach (Result- goal is increased to +/- 150.)
