Today's (randomish) development resource! (August 28th)
« on: August 28, 2013, 09:59:15 pm »
Today's Tweets:

Aaron: Nathan and Zack continue work on the thrusters today.  Basically consolidating 2 year old code logic... you know the drill. ;D

Aaron: Gabe's state logic upgrade could take a couple of days.  Another matter of a two year old system that is no longer appropriate.

Puzzle:

This week's code puzzle took me 5 minutes and 30 seconds (I feel I was a bit slow with this one...). How fast can *you* solve it?  :o

Snapshot Disclaimer:
Spoiler
These daily development screenshots are just for fun during the engine overhauling doldrums; they do not represent anything that's in-game (we want surprises!) and come without explanation (guess away for fun!).  Regardless of what you see or think you see, just remember that our focus for the upcoming W1xx release is solely a stable, reliable multiplayer engine that will be ready when "Build, Fly, Shoot" is working appropriately.

So keep your expectations in check and have fun!  ::)

Felt slow here too. I can't concentrate with the Star Citizen hangar looming.

If your going to use military force you ought to use overwhelming military force. All war is immoral and if you let that bother you your not a good soldier.

I can completely out-do you all for terribleness: 18 minutes and 25 seconds (yes, you read that right, 18m 25s). BEAT THAT FOR TERRIBLE!

Protip(s):  Start with the borders of a jigsaw puzzle first!  Then look for areas that will have tell-tale connectable pieces; the troll-face stamp, for example.  Otherwise look for colors/patterns (lines going across the puzzle, diagonals or color gradients).

Leave your borders in two piever until the last possible momen, otherwise you'
ll obscure a lot of the puzzle while trign ti put eht last pieces in.

Yeah, annoying that.  I try to keep the border frame in two separate pieces as long as possible but every once in a while accidentally snap them together.  In that case you just drag it around as necessary.

There is a sweet spot where you snap the part of the puzzle to the background, which moves it behind the unused pieces.
