Today's Tweets:
Aaron: Hah.  Found out today that the renderer had been drawing the top-most pixel on the bottom of the screen for the longes time.  >.<

Aaron: Silly simple reasons why.

Aaron: *cracks knuckles*. As Gabe and I stretch the new engine's limits with UI, Nate and Gabe nail bugs like clay pigeons. =)

Aaron: Basically it comes down to my saying: "Hey, let's make that thing fly over here and then fade in over here -- but then change color".

Aaron: Micah's doing further tests with character armor and texturing.  Maybe a tad too cartoony... comes down to how it looks with lighting

These daily development screenshots are just for fun during the engine overhauling doldrums; they do not represent anything that's in-game (we want surprises!) and come without explanation (guess away for fun!).  Regardless of what you see or think you see, just remember that our focus for the upcoming W1xx release is solely a stable, reliable multiplayer engine that will be ready when "Build, Fly, Shoot" is working appropriately.

cartoony styles, all though not as "realistic" tend to age better.
would you buy a toaster shaped like an f22 with an eject button on it? cause thats what i'm going for.

Considering the UI in week 71 Is already pretty impressive, I can't imagine how you could make it much better.

W71's UI code was held together by popsicle sticks, and to implement anything 2D interface-wise was a royal pain the butt.  Now in W1xx, anything that would have taken a week in W71 can be done in a day with W1xx and with much tighter coding! =)
