ORIGNAL POST BELOW

Morning,

So, with the progress of Sh ongoing, I thought I'd make a ship builder's blog on my progress with pictures. At 2 days, this is what I had.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Three days later, this is my current progress

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

In four days she has gained over 100 thousand tonnes. The first (last) deck is completed, complete with triple hull and fittings and cargo bays, and I also completed the lower engine bastion which I'm in the process of filling in.

:D

You really don't want to wait for tools? Would make your project probably done in 0,001% of the time needed now.
But still awesome what some people build.

My goodness, that's impressive...

For your sake, I dearly hope you built that thing oriented correctly, so that when you plop down a control panel and some guns the game doesn't decide "forwards" is the ship's sideways... >.>

Yeah, well it seems just that much cooler and more impressive when someone's done it by hand. Tools will be a while, though, so maybe it's not worth the wait.

Not going to lie, i think that this is stuffed with gold to make it so heavy lol ;].

I would recomend doing outlines btw, I am doing 1/12 of my station so that I can copy paste it into other sections to save time. I also have my MAC gun outlined with blocks and I am going to be working on Orbital Construction platforms next.

"She was built by hand, you know. Not mass-produced like all the modern vessels these days. Alloy's the same, but you know what this little beauty has that no ten like her can match? Love. There's love and dedication in every inch of her, and let me tell you boy, when things get sticky, that pays back."

Wow, I think it might put my measly 100 by 100 cube ship to shame... lol

Just doing the outline of the cube took me a while, but let alone 600 by 200+ by 200+ ship like your!

Reminds me of the Mothership from Homeworld. Purely awesome.

divide by 10 and that is what the weight would translate to block count for hull plating. I know there is some that arent but it is the best guesstimate. so you laid approximately 15million blocks?

It's probably something akin to that, but I haven't been counting. The floors/inner white walls/carpet don't account for much of the weight however. I'll be posting updates every two or three days just so there's time for significant progress. Either that or I'll only post updates when I've gotten something done haha. When she's done I might add her to the shipyard.

Ohhhh... if you don't add her to the shipyard, I shall be rather disappointed and jealous. Though as a form of respect, I could never see myself piloting her. Just would be in awe of the finished product, and would enjoy a 3D run-around.
