Hi!

Here will be my little place to show off my little babies  :)

First of all i want to say that i take inspiration and size classification from Homeworld series. Im big fan of SW, Mass effect, played EvE and other S-F games i like, but as i made a little research and thinking the best scale would be Homeworld scale for my purposes and feeling.

Ill try to edit and build more details as background and documentation for my ships when i will get satysfying ideas and inspirations.

Looks splendid, yet it falls prey to what befells my ships.  Heavy Plating!  Unless the monotone look is what you're going for, there isnt a need(as of yet) to put heavy plating on because its heavy plating.  I'm trying to move away from that stuff and just put plating on for the sake of covering structure, making it colorful.  Well, as colorful as a doom and gloom type ship can be.  But, I do like how the ship looks.

That looks... sturdy.

And not because of the heavy plating. It's bulky, it's built like a wrestler. The whole ship just looks... tough.

Or maybe it's just me. :P

What are the dimensions on that? By the picture I'd have to say about 75 metres long? Nice looking bird that.

Thanks! I take all of it as compliment ;)
I like when ship gives some kind of dread feeling to the opposite force!
I will do the painting, but it will be rather dark and moody for the badassnes ;)

When i finish it i will go for something bigger like battlecriuser (about 900 m).

Glad you like it!

I'd suggest trying something... smaller. Anything over 200-300m takes a looooong while.

Well unless you plan to have a big space rectangle. That wouldn't take (as) long.

Since nobody else has been Mr. Downer yet, another reason you might want to hold off on building a ship over 400m or so is that the engine currently has a bad time with big ships like that.

Personally, I start to notice slowdown with ships around 300m (like the Nebulon B) but it doesn't really effect my building until it reaches 400m. I can handle ships like Snowdragon's Selfless Heart and Niwantaw's Shedim Nist (both over 1000m long) but at 3-5 fps I just won't.

It's not worth my sanity. Those two are both clinically insane already.

This ship should be classified as a Maurader not a corvette.  8)

I love the hull design, it's very rigid and fear inspiring.

Yeah, but the Nebulon is limited on the engines it can field and still be canon. His design can have as many engines as he wants, and the closer we get to the finished product, the more that number of engines will come into play. With a bruiser like the one he's shown so far, there's plenty of space to put a monster engine in.

My own two cents: I agree with the other comments. I wouldn't want to go toe-to-toe with your ship, even in the biggest ships out there. Something in it's design tells me that my Nebulon might get some good opening shots, but the beating it'd get in return would rip me to shreds.
