Colonial Armed Forces

Welcome to the official page of the Colonial Armed Forces of the 12 colonies

The Colonial Armed Forces(Colonial Fleet and CMC) are the military arm of the 12 Colonies of Kobol. The colonists descended from the home planet of Kobol, who made a great exodus from the planet some 2,000 years ago. They came to the Cyrannus star system where they found twelve habitable planets. They were all colonized and given the names Aquaria, Aerilon, Canceron, Caprica, Gemenon, Leonis, Libran, Picon, Sagittaron, Scorpia, Tauron, and Virgon. Our civilization has had it's share of conflicts and wars, but we've all learned to come together as a coalition for the sake of the 12 colonies as a whole. We do not need to 'conquer' any foreign lands, nor do we wish to. We will not aid another force in the conquering of other lands, unless the other force has unjustly made an attack or other act of war against the aforementioned force, and only if we have a military pact with the force stating that we will aid them with our own military forces.

The CAF will be a military force, NOT a police force. Any aggressive action made by the CAF will be made in a militaristic fashion. This is not to say that the CAF will allow unauthorized action to go uninterrupted in it's presence, or that the CAF will "take no prisoners". This simply means that the CAF will exist to defend itself and it's civilian populace. If unauthorized actions (such as piracy) is witnessed by the CAF, they will respond in a swift and direct fashion. Anyone who surrenders to the CAF and is not an enemy combatant, will be taken to the nearest proper authorities. If any ship is in distress and a rescue mission is requested or a distress beacon is discovered by a BSG, it will(if not in a combat situation) divert priority to the ship in distress.

The Colonial Armed Forces are here to help anyone in Colonial space that is in need of protection and is attacked without provocation, whether it is a colonial craft or not(depending on their current standing with the colonies at that time. This goes for civilian or military craft. If a military force is to try to seek entry into colonial space as a means of breaking away from a military conflict, depending on their current standing with the colonies they will have a BSG combat jump to their area and either force both factions to take the conflict back out of colonial space, order the transgressing faction to break pursuit and leave, or order the fleeing force to surrender. Failure to abide by these commands will result in aggressive action to be taken until the disobeying faction/factions abide by the commands given to them.

Any civilian ship is welcome to come and go through colonial space as they please, so long as they abide by colonial law while there. If a civilian ship of any kind is being attacked or harassed by any vessels of unknown origin or that is not confirmed to be a police vessel, will be ordered to break off pursuit, and if is confirmed not to be a police vessel, will be ordered to leave, and the civilian vessel will be asked to board a colonial fleet vessel if it wishes to remain in colonial space. If not, the vessel can be taken care of by an iHelp support ship. If the civilian ship wishes not to remain in colonial space, or does not require aid of any kind, it can be on its way. If the pursuing force is a police vessel, both ships will be asked to board a colonial support craft to assess the situation. If the rogue craft fails to comply, it will be disabled. If it attacks either the pursuing craft or the colonial fleet, it will be fired on and destroyed.


The CAF will be divided into 2 forces at the moment, the Colonial Fleet, and the Colonial Marine Corps.

The Colonial Fleet

The Colonial Fleet will be comprised of 10 squadrons(7 fighter, 3 raptor) and 4 battlestar groups(BSG's).

The fighter squadrons will consist of about 20 Vipers each
The raptor squadrons will consist of about 4 to 6 Raptors each
The current squadrons will be:

    Fighter Squadron 1: Primus
    Raptor Squadron 2: Strike Fighters
    Fighter Squadron 3: Vigilantes
    Fighter Squadron 4: Demons
    Fighter Squadron 5: Prowlers
    Fighter Squadron 6: Vampires
    Raptor Squadron 7: Battleaxe
    Fighter Squadron 8: Red Aces - Aces N' Eights
    Fighter Squadron 9: Headhunters
    Raptor Squadron 10: Raptors

Note: Empty squadrons will be occupied only when active squadrons are at sufficient occupancy.

The current BSG's will be:

BSG 39
BSG 41
BSG 62
BSG 75
Note: Each BSG will be based around a battlestar and include military support vessels.


The Colonial Marine Corps. [CMC]
The Colonial Marines will, at the moment be comprised as large (Platoon size) forces divided into 4 squads of 4 to 5 soldiers.
Colonial Marines will have on ship duties for battlestar fleets to defend against unauthorized boarding, as well as key points from infiltration by enemy units.






This is simply a placeholder for something much bigger. At the moment I do not have the time to post everything that will be comprised on this thread, but when posting and commenting remember to keep in mind that this thread will be updated and altered extensively later on.



Note: As of yet, no proper battlestar class ships exist, nor do any support ships. This means ranking will come upon completion of a proper BSG. Currently recruitment is open for anyone who wishes to enter the Colonial Fleet, or the Colonial Marine Corps.

and run training sorties.

Well, I don't know about ships, as I was planning on using ship layouts of various colonial craft to make a proper colonial fleet and colonial civ force. But I could see buying target drones, and KEW ammo for live fire training sessions some times in the support of capitalism and free trade and all.
